Apple and Blackberry Crumble

Apple and Blackberry Crumble

Serves 4

Ingredients
  • Crumble:
  • 120g / 5oz rice of plain gf flour
  • 30g / 1½ oz polenta
  • 75g/ 3oz dairy-free spread
  • 75g/ 3oz Demerara sugar
  • Filling:
  • 5 eating apples
  • 200g frozen blackberries
Preparation
  • Preheat the oven to 180 C / 350F / Gas 4.
  • Grease a deepsided ovenproof dish.
  • Peel, chop and stew the apples. Add to your ovenproof dish with the frozen blackberries.
  • Place flour and polenta in a large mixing bowl.
  • Add the dairy-free spread and rub in using your fingertips, then stir in sugar.
  • Sprinkle with the crumble topping and bake for 30 – 40 minutes until bubbling and golden.
  • Serve with free-from cream or ice-cream (see below)
  • Soya ice-cream – I recommend Swedish Glace.
  • Soya Cream – I recommend Alpro Soya cream alternative or Cremovita soya whipping cream alternative.
  • Oat Cream – try Oat Supreme.
